Benefiting from the prevalence of both home 4K UHD Blu-ray Players and 4K UHD TVs, the next-gen 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray movies are also enjoying increasing popularity. To keep up the pace, DVDFab introduces world's 1st 4K UHD copy software. DVDFab UHD Copy can copy the main movie title or the entire disc of a 4K Ultra HD movie off the original disc, and then save the content as a 1:1 lossless or compressed ISO file, or burn the compressed content to blank BD50/25 discs. In the process, both the Dolby Vision and the HDR10 video quality can be preserved. As of now, we already support most of the 4K UHD titles. Also, you may need a compatible UHD drive, see our Supported Drive List.
Usually, a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray disc contains around 70GB of data, therefore, making a backup copy of such disc can be a headache. But don’t panic, DVDFab UHD Copy is just designed for this. It can clone the entire disc of a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray as a 1:1 lossless ISO file; copy the entire disc or Main Movie title to an ISO file or folder with BD-100 2160p quality; or compress them to a much smaller size to fit a blank BD-50/25 disc or save the compressed content as an ISO file/folder, and still retain the 2160p quality. Compared to backing up the entire disc content to blank BD XL disc (with three layers), which can be very costly, doing this way can be much cost efficiently.
HDR10 and Dolby Vision are the most recent breakthroughs in the film and TV industries which bring the video image quality of Blu-ray movies up to the next level. However, from the technical perspective, HDR10 and Dolby Vision are two formats of the same thing, both are capable of boosting the brightness of highlights and allow more natural color. That said, the best video quality can only be achieved when the HDR10/Dolby Vision compatible displays are met with HDR10/Dolby Vision contents. Don’t worry, this UHD copy software can preserve the HDR10/Dolby Vision image quality of the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray.
Due to the massive data processing requirement, compressing a 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray can take a considerable amount of time. But worry not, because this UHD copy software also inherits the best DNA of the DVDFab products to support the hardware acceleration technologies. If your computers are equipped with the video cards that are capable of 4K HEVC 10-bit decoding and encoding, such as the GeForce GTX 1050 Series (and above) from NVIDIA, and the HD series from the Kaby Lake processor series (and above) of Intel, then the compressing process can be decreased theoretically from an average of 20 hours to around 1 hour, even less.
Another advantage of this UHD copy software is that it works seamlessly with DVDFab’s recent movie storage, management and playback device, the Movie Server. With the first-class media managing capability, UHD Blu-ray playback ability, exclusive poster wall feature, and the genuine menu navigation support, a complete 4K UHD Blu-ray backup, storage, management and playback solution is at your hand. Moreover, aside from the current Main Movie/Full Disc mode, more backup mode support is planned for the future updates. When that comes true, you can have more flexible backup options together with other choices.
DVDFab UHD Copy is the 1st 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray copy software to copy the 4K Ultra HD Blu-ray movies to regular blank BD-50/25 discs, or save the compressed contents onto computer hard drives as ISO files or folders, in 2160p quality. More backup modes are still in the works and will be available soon.
Only the 64-bit version of DVDFab 10 contains the UHD Copy module, so make sure you download and install the correct version of DVDFab 10 onto your PC;
Launch DVDFab 10, navigate to the Main Movie/Full Disc mode under the Copy module. As of now, only the Main Movie mode supports the 4K Ultra HD movies, but more backup modes shall be supported through the future update course;
Load the 4K Ultra HD source (a disc, ISO file or folder), click the wrench icon behind the 4K UHD logo to choose your preferred output size, then at the Save to section, choose the output destination, and finally, click the Start button to let go of the copy process.
